In
the 1960's, Al Harris, then a farm equipment dealer, saw the need
for a specialized agricultural parts service in Western Canada.
Although a number of quality "short-line" manufacturers were
represented in the Canadian West, they were unable to provide
adequate parts service, an important factor in providing service to
agriculture. In 1970, Al started a service for Alberta dealers, and
in February of 1973, Westward Parts Services Ltd. was
incorporated as a separate business. A Regina warehouse was opened
in February of 1974. Westward Parts soon expanded to serve Manitoba
and British Columbia dealers, and then Eastern Canadian dealers and
distributors. Westward Parts is a 100% Canadian owned private
corporation.
Westward
Parts' objective has always been efficient service to our customers
who provide parts and service to Canadian farmers and acreage
owners. Westward Parts supplies a wide selection of affordable
quality products with superior customer service. See a short history

1987.
Late
in 1989, Westward Parts purchased the Melroe rubber apron windrow
combine pickup from the Melroe Company of North Dakota. As a result
of this acquisition, Westward Products Inc., a North Dakota
corporation, was founded in 1990. Westward Products Inc. is located
in Jamestown, North Dakota, and distributes its products primarily
in the northern plains states. Westward Products Inc. distributes
many of the same products that Westward Parts does, and products of
other Canadian manufacturers.
Late
in 1992, Westward Parts acquired most of the inventory and assets of
City Machinery Limited, a large Winnipeg industrial distributor.
Westward Parts is now supplying bearings, power transmission
products, tools, components, and general industrial supplies to a
large number of industrial and commercial customers.
Since its
establishment, Westward Parts has grown steadily and can now supply
the largest selection of "all makes parts and power transmission
products" in Canada. Westward Parts is Western Canada's leading
agricultural distributor, supplying almost all the region's farm
equipment dealers, and other farm parts retailers. Westward Parts
continues to provide an authorized original parts distribution
service for several quality farm equipment manufacturers. Westward
Parts also manufacturers and distributes accessories, attachments
and small equipment, and supplies specialized items to Original
Equipment Manufacturers. Westward Parts growth has been accomplished
by aggressively pursuing manufacturers, the world over, that can
supply us with top quality products at competitive prices. This
allows customers to be competitive in today's marketplace. The great
majority of the products Westward Parts supplies are manufactured in
Canada or the United States, while about 15% of them are imported
from Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany,
Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, The Netherlands,
Romania, Spain, Taiwan and Yugoslavia. Westward Parts has enjoyed
long continuous relationships with its suppliers.
